The Career Advancement and Leadership Skills module is an integral part of your MBA journey. Designed by identifying what global MBA recruiters demand and in consultation with MBA alumni, you will build and explore the skills and capabilities needed to elevate your global career.

Your key leadership capabilities will be honed and enhanced through your tailored MBA experience to provide you with the practical knowledge and training you need to succeed.

You will also have the opportunity to personalise your development by assessing your own skill levels, setting challenging goals and creating an individual action plan.

The module will contribute to the overall aims of the MBA programme by offering you opportunities to develop your skills and capabilities in the areas of leadership, digital, global and ethics and sustainability.

Our International, Engagement and Careers team provide a dedicated personal consultancy service to all MBA students and graduates. Whether you're looking to advance your career within your current function or sector or switching career paths, they will support you throughout your programme and beyond.

Residential induction

To kick-start your Personal Career Advancement, you'll be invited to attend a residential induction. This provides a great opportunity for you to meet and get to know other students and staff. Your induction will also enhance your self-awareness and develop, demonstrate and receive feedback on essential interpersonal skills.

Residential induction

To kick-start the Career Development Programme, you’ll be invited to attend a residential induction. This provides a great opportunity for you to meet and get to know other students and staff, settle into the Executive MBA, as well as enhance your self-awareness and develop, demonstrate and receive feedback on essential interpersonal skills.

Boardroom activity

Our unique boardroom activity is an elective module that enables you to put your business skills to the test in a live boardroom setting. By replicating the tensions and challenges of a real boardroom it helps develop vital interpersonal skills such as strategy and decision making. The activity culminates in a role-play of a boardroom meeting, where experienced company executives chair the session and provide guidance, direction and feedback. It’s also a great opportunity to meet and build your network with corporate partners.
