Protect yourself and others

We urge our community to follow government restrictions in place to help control the spread of Covid-19.

The UK Government has now confirmed that further in-person teaching at English universities can resume from Monday 17 May 2021, as part of Step 3 of the Roadmap.

Students in Durham are reminded to take two Lateral Flow Tests (LFTs) per week throughout Easter Term to protect themselves and our community.

We are ensuring that students receive a first-rate education and achieve their learning outcomes on time, and that students are not disadvantaged during the pandemic.

Information for applicants and future students

We’re looking forward to welcoming you to Durham: your choice for 2021/22. At Durham, your health and safety are always our top priority. We’ve worked hard to make our campus Covid-secure and staff and students can get tested on campus, for free, seven days a week.

Lateral Flow Tests

The Lateral Flow Test (LFT) is one of a number of new testing technologies for the Covid-19 virus. It has been piloted over the past few months at Durham University as well as across the UK. The aim of the test is to identify those most at risk of spreading Covid-19 by identifying those who are infectious, but not aware of this. This will enable us to break the chains of transmission and reduce the infection rate.
