As part of our celebrations for International Women’s Day, our Vice-Chancellor and Warden, Professor Karen O’Brien hosted a panel discussion with a number of leading women from across the region.

The Meet the Women Levelling Up in the North East panel was made up of Michelle Cooper MBE, Chief Executive – County Durham Community Foundation, Suzanne Duncan, Principal and Chief Executive- East Durham College and Chief Constable Jo Farrell - Durham Constabulary, alongside Professors Claire O’Malley and Jacqui Ramagge.

Open to all members of our University community; the event provided the opportunity to focus on the accomplishments of organisations and individuals across the region.

Throughout the event, a wide range of topics were covered, from a global to local perspective, sharing personal insight and celebrating the progress that has been made in the region in relation to the role of women and their impact across the North East.

The discussion has been recorded and we welcome the opportunity to share this with you here.
