This year, 2023/24, the IAS is offering to support a small number of film showings. We aim to support film screenings that are intended for a broad audience from across Durham’s research community.
Funds (up to a maximum of £150) can be used for any purpose that supports the screening of the film (film costs, costs for a speaker alongside the film, costs to support a reception or workshop following the screening, etc). They are not expected to cover the full costs of the activity, and are intended as a form of support alongside other internal or external support, indicating the significance of the film to Durham’s research community.
Applications should be made to email@example.com at least 2 months ahead of the event. Applications should be no longer than ½ side of A4 and should explain:
Details of the film
Its relevance to research at Durham
Who the audience is likely to be (and how this reaches across disciplines)
Other sources of funding to support the event
If approved, funds will be transferred only once the other sources of funding have been confirmed.
