Biography

Franklin Nakpodia (PhD) is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Durham University Business School, Durham University, UK, where he teaches accounting-related modules. Prior to joining Durham in September 2020, Franklin held academic positions at the University of Leeds and Northumbria University, both in the UK. He earned his PhD from the Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University. Franklin is a qualified chartered accountant and holds a first-class accounting degree. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and an External Examiner at Coventry University, UK. 

Franklin’s research areas include accounting, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility, focusing on institutional frameworks in emerging and developing economies. His research has been published in globally reputable journals, including Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Business & Society, Journal of Business Research, Annals of Operations Research, Industrial Marketing Management, International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research, Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies, and Corporate Governance, among others. He currently serves on the editorial boards of Corporate Governance, Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal and Africa Journal of Management.
