Working thesis title: 'Using mangroves to reconstruct Holocene sea-level changes'
I am interested in geological records of past sea-level change, and in the processes that lead to their formation. For my PhD, I am investigating how mangrove sediments can be used to reconstruct late Holocene sea-level changes. Mangroves are important sedimentary archives in low-latitude, 'far-field' locations, where sea level variability more likely reflects changes in global ice volume rather than ice-earth feedback processes.
