Fees and Funding

Fees for full-time international students are displayed in the course database. Please check this for up to date fees.   Information about fees related to the International Study Centre can be found on their own website. 

Durham University supports students from USA or Canada with obtaining loans from their home country. For more information on Foreign Loans see our corresponding section. 

Canadian students have the ability to borrow government loans through their province and you can find more information from the Government of Canada Student Loans website. Durham University authorises enrolment verification forms on behalf of Canadian students and you can bring your forms to the Scholarships and Student Funding Service or email us. 

Durham University’s Institutional Code is: PUAP 

US citizens and eligible non-citizens can apply for William D. Ford Direct Loans, private loans through Sallie Mae or combination of both. Direct loans interest rates are lower than private loans and students should investigate all options before borrowing.

Students receiving aid from other foreign countries should, once in Durham, bring their loan and deferment forms to the Scholarships and Student Funding Service in The Palatine Centre.

    You are classified as ‘Home/EU’ or ‘Overseas’ for fees purposes depending on your nationality and the country where you normally live – where you are ‘ordinarily resident’.
