Celebrating Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee

We are delighted to be celebrating the 70th anniversary of The Queen's accession to the throne.

This is a major milestone which no other British monarch has ever reached. As we look back over her remarkable reign, we are proud of the University's many connections with The Queen and Royal Family over the years.

University student
We send our warmest congratulations to Her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of her Platinum Jubilee. To have served as monarch for 70 years is a remarkable and unprecedented achievement. Here at Durham University we treasure our many connections with The Queen and the Royal Family. We have hosted Her Majesty on several occasions during her reign, most recently when she visited Durham Castle with His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh in 2012; and, of course, our Stockton campus bears the title ‘Queen’s Campus’ in her honour. We wish Her Majesty a very enjoyable Jubilee and continuing good health and happiness for the future.
