Experiment with shape and colour and create a unique print on fabric.

Join us for a creative workshop with artist Meryl Mathieson of Interface Arts.

Pattern, form and colour are all around us and in this workshop you will learn to take every day glass objects and create striking experimental prints. After practicing your technique on paper, your final design will be produced on cloth.

 

£12 per person

All materials provided. No experience necessary.

This workshop is suitable for over 16s only.

 

 

 

About the Artist

Meryl's art practice centres on using natural and found materials in painting and printing. She works in her studio alongside other artists at Spectrum in Seaham. Meryl enjoys researching art history and gives talks on the paintings in the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle as a volunteer guide.

Meryl is a member of Interface Arts.

 

Parking and Accessibility

Free parking is available at the Oriental Museum. Additional parking can be found at Elvet Hill which is a large University staff car park available for museum visitors on a weekend. For directions contact the Oriental Museum on 0191 334 5691.
