Biography
Franklin Nakpodia (PhD) is an Associate Professor in Accounting at Durham University Business School, UK, where he teaches a variety of accounting-related modules. He joined Durham University in September 2020, following academic positions at the University of Leeds and Northumbria University.
Dr. Nakpodia earned his PhD from Newcastle Business School at Northumbria University. He is a chartered accountant (FCCA) and graduated with a first-class degree in accounting. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and serves as an External Examiner at Coventry University and Aston University.
Dr. Nakpodia’s research focuses on accounting, corporate governance, and corporate social responsibility, particularly within the context of institutional frameworks in emerging and developing economies. His work has been published in globally reputable journals, including the Journal of Business Ethics, Accounting Forum, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Financial Accountability & Management, Business & Society, Journal of Business Research, Annals of Operations Research, and Industrial Marketing Management.
He currently serves as an Associate Editor for Business Ethics, the Environment and Responsibility, and Corporate Governance. He is also on the editorial boards of the Sustainability Accounting, Management and Policy Journal and Africa Journal of Management.
