Prior to joining Durham, Hui Gao held a position as Teaching Fellow in Mathematics and Data Analysis in the Department of Economics at the University of Bath. She joined Durham University Business School as an Assistant Professor in Finance in 2020.
Hui Gao is the International Coordinator for Department of Finance and Durham University Business School. She is responsible for partnership development with multiple leading international institutions and has organised a variety of global collabrative activities including staff and student exchanges for both research and education purposes.
Hui Gao gained her PhD in Finance from the Accounting and Finance Group, School of Management at the University of Bath. Her main research interests include systemic risk, financial stability, and financial intermediaries. Her working papers were presented at both regional and internal conferences. In addition, Hui is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
