Business Students for PhD scholarship news item

The School Departments of Economics and Finance have a range of fully funded PhD scholarships available for the very best students looking to start their Economics or Finance PhD with the Business School in October 2024.

Whatever a researcher's goal, the Durham PhD gives them the opportunity to combine rigorous academic theory with high quality research to make a unique contribution in their field of study. A range of funding opportunities are currently available for suitably qualified candidates interested in undertaking an Economics or Finance based research degree and make this high level qualification accessible to the best candidates regardless of financial circumstances.

Durham Doctoral Teaching Fellowship (DDTF) 

The fellowship is only available to PhD candidates who qualify as home fee paying students and are aspiring to an academic career. (Application deadline: 31 January 2024). 

The Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) NINE DTP studentships. 

The ESRC offers a range of studentships available for a 3-year PhD, or a Masters by Research and PhD (1+3 year), or a 3.5-year PhD plus research training. These are Available for both home and international students. (Application deadline: 22 January 2024). 

Durham-Chinese Scholarships Council (CSC) studentships. 

The scholarships are open to applicants from Mainland China wishing to study for a PhD at Durham. There are 20 awards available in all disciplines. (Application deadline: 15 January). 

Pro-NE Studentship

This is a full-time PhD studentship for UK-Home candidates from racially minoritised ethnic backgrounds. One PhD studentship is available in the Business School under the Office for Students funded Postgraduate Research Opportunities for the Northeast/Network for Equity (Pro-NE) project. (Application deadline: 15 February 2024).
