Head of Executive Education in the Business School


Sue joined the Partnerships & Engagement Team within Research and Innovation Services in 2019 and supports the University’s Business School. Key areas of focus include identifying new partnership opportunities to strengthen the University’s collaborative research, knowledge transfer and impact activity, developing relationships with external bodies and companies and managing existing partnerships.

Sue is also a college mentor at Van Mildert College.

Sue was previously responsible for the management and delivery of bespoke and accredited programmes up to Masters Level within the Business School’s Postgraduate portfolio, including teaching and facilitation of a number of Executive Programmes. Most recently, Sue was Programme Director for the Online MBA (ranked 7th in the world in the 2019 FT Online MBA ranking) during a period when the programme was successfully redesigned and relaunched as a two-year programme.

Sue started her career in a marketing and training role with an IT consultancy in London before moving into the field of economic development (Inward Investment) at One North East, the development agency for the North East of England. This position involved business development and project management to attract and retain companies from Japan and North America to the North East region. Sue worked on projects with the Nissan supply chain and with North American companies including Caterpillar and Convergys.
