Department of Engineering 60th Anniversary Alumni Celebration

As part of the event, there will be many opportunities to meet friends old and new. There will be a drinks reception upon arrival, followed by hearing from some of the Department’s current staff and students about their recent successes (likely to include solar cars and rockets) and a few stories from our long history. 

Prepare to be split into small groups for hands-on practical activities with support from our demonstrators to help rekindle your memories of afternoon lab sessions. There will be tours and you will see our new Design Studio space, which was opened this year to give our students the opportunity to convert their designs into prototypes. You will also see the replacement for our long serving Denison Tensile tester which undoubtedly caused many alumni and visitors to jump with surprise due to the thud of breaking rebar.

After this, we will move on to Grey College to enjoy a three-course dinner and to share memories and stories from the past sixty years.

The event is open to all Engineering alumni and guests are welcome to join.
