Our Policy Statement and our Code of Practice on Freedom of Expression set out clear expectations and processes for activities affiliated to, funded by or branded as Durham University.

Our University community is based on respect and care for one another and for the local residents with whom we share our city. Occasionally we have to take action if individuals fall short of the values and behaviours we expect from a Durham student.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our students is our first priority. We work with partners, including the police, council and health service, as well as student leaders, to help our students stay safe.
