Workshop in Economic Theory (MSET24), 21-22 March 2024

DREAM co-organises the Workshop in Economic Theory, in Memory of Miltos Makris (MSET), together with the Universities of Bristol, Carlos III and Southampton. The workshop started in 2013, at the University of Southampton. 

The 2024 workshop took place at Durham on 21-22 March 2024.

Durham York Workshop in Economic Theory  

The Durham York workshop takes place annually and it is a one-day event where colleagues from both Universities meet and present their research. The 2024 workshop took place in York on May 9, 2024.

4th Durham Economic Theory Conference, 6-7 June 2024

The 4th Durham Economic Theory Conference (DETC2023) took place on 6-7 June 2024 at Durham University Business School.

The three keynote speakers were

We invite paper submissions from all major fields of economic theory and its applications, with a focus on micro-theory, industrial organization, mechanism/market design, bargaining/auction theory and behavioural/experimental economics.

CMA Durham Workshop, 6-7 November 2023

The Competition and Market Authority’s (CMA) Microeconomics Unit, the Department of Economics and the DREAM Research Centre organised a small in-person workshop on the topic of “Innovation, business dynamism and market power”, that took place on 6-7 November 2023 at the Durham University Business School (DUBS). The workshop was designed to facilitate a dialogue between academic researchers and policymakers trying to understand what makes an economy competitive, innovative and productive.

The workshop featured a keynote speeches by Sara Calligaris (OECD) and Jan De Loecker (KU Leuven), as well as a policy panel of senior UK policymakers.

3rd Durham Economic Theory Conference, 29-30 June 2023

The 3rd Durham Economic Theory Conference (DETC2023) took place on 29-30 June 2023 at Durham University Business School.
