Workplace and Organisations: Inclusive, Effective and Responsible Systems

* Image generated using AI

Creating inclusive work environments, supporting occupational health and well-being, and developing effective leadership are major challenges in today's workplaces. Our research focuses on understanding how humans think, feel, and act in work and organisational settings. Much of our work addresses questions around identity, self-regulation, productivity, health, and well-being. It examines identity processes and how these are shaped by individuals' experiences and behaviours throughout different stages of career and working life. For example, we study career aspirations and how to frame recruitment messages prior to organisational entry. Further, we focus on critical identity-related issues such as allyship, leadership, and social status. By bringing together expertise from various areas within social and organisational psychology, we help build more inclusive, healthy, and responsible organisations. A central focus of our work is bridging the gap between research and practice by developing evidence-based strategies and interventions that lead to actionable solutions and meaningful, long-term change. Examples of our collaboration partners are Panasonic, NatWest and the United Nations.
