Behavioral Change: From Nudging and Behavioural Insight to Social Influence

* Image generated using AI

Our research group is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of behaviour change. Drawing on cutting-edge research in social psychology and motivated cognition, we investigate factors that drive behaviour, with a particular focus on risk perception, social influence, and decision-making in a variety of applied settings. Our work also delves into public health, examining how interventions, policies and communication strategies can effectively promote healthier and more sustainable lifestyles and reduce harmful behaviours. By bridging theoretical research with practical applications, we aim to develop innovative interventions that drive meaningful change, from organisational settings to public health initiatives. Our group is committed to not only understanding the underlying mechanisms of behaviour but also working with stakeholders within the private, public, and third sectors to apply these insights. Examples of recent research within this theme include the evaluation of calorie labelling interventions in workplace cafeterias and the development and delivery of bias-reduction interventions in organisational settings.
