Study desks and chairs in red booths

We have introduced pre-bookable study spaces within Bill Bryson Library to allow students to attend timetabled online learning sessions from a central location on campus.

These study spaces are ideal for those times when you have an online lecture, seminar or tutorial before or after a face-to-face lecture and you don’t have time to get home and get online!

Available for use from Monday 11 October, these spaces are study booths, designed to give you some privacy to focus on your lecture or other online learning activity. They are not soundproof or confidential, but offer a more individual, enclosed space than open desks. They are located on Level 2 of the Bill Bryson Library, opposite the main entrance way, and you must ensure you have headsets and speak quietly to avoid disturbing other users nearby.

These spaces require pre-booking through our Space Booking system and will be available to book from Friday 8 October. You can book up to 5 of this type of study space per week, in addition to 30 hours per week for Stay and Study service. Bookings are for flexible timeslots, between one and two hours in length, which can be booked Monday-Friday between 8am and 6pm. No booking is required to use these spaces after 6pm or at weekends.
