University Library and Collections sites will be closed on Friday 3 June to mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
As the country celebrates with a special extended bank holiday weekend, we have taken the decision to close our buildings to allow staff to celebrate this historic occasion.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Bill Bryson Library will close at 6pm on Thursday 2 June and re-open at 9am on Saturday 4 June.
- All our other study spaces, including ISC Library in Stockton, will be closed on both Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June, due to the bank holidays.
- Palace Green Library and Oriental Museum will close at 7pm on Thursday 2 June following their weekly late-night opening (excluding Barker Research Library). They will then re-open at their usual times on Saturday 4 June.
- There will be no tours at Durham Castle on Friday 3 June.
- Our Virtual Enquiry Desk will remain available. Live Chats will be answered by the on-call team and emails will be read when we re-open.
