Following on from the three successful projects and the Ukraine Talks series, the CSU aims to further develop our interdisciplinary work, training and engagement. Specifically, we envisage our future initiatives and projects to be:
- Named Phd scholarship in any field at Durham University that would concern an area relevant to Ukraine’s history and recovery.
- Interdisciplinary peace building initiative in collaboration with ZNU, involving PGR and ECR exchanges with Durham University and working towards the establishment of a peace building research centre in Zaporizhzhia.
- International urban studies project in collaboration with Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) and a consortium of European universities on a sustainable and historically sensitive revitalisation of urban neighbourhoods.
- Interdisciplinary Staff Exchange Networks between Durham researchers, academics and practitioners from Ukraine and the EU. Our initial focus is on the use of Robotics and Wild Social and Solitary Bees in Agriculture.
- We will continue research placements of ZNU Biology Master students at Durham, focusing of crops resilience and ecology.
- Research on plant-pollinator interactions and sensory ecology of pollinators (this may be developed as short- or long-term projects at various levels, depending on the available funding).
- We are open to facilitate research co-supervision, placements and applications for funding via various schemes, e.g. CARA, MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships, Newton Fellowships, HFSP, Wellcome, BBSRC, Leverhulme, IBRO, Marshall, Branco Weiss and other fellowships. Please reach out to us with your CV and a clear description of your research interests.
