Digital Research Upskilling

Durham provides a rich ecosystem of professional development courses and upskilling offers around its digital research infrastructure.

• The DRI/CPD Training is realised through various research grants in IDAS
• DIRAC hosts major machinery on the Durham campus and runs many events. Their upskilling is available from https://dirac.ac.uk/training/
• MISCADA is Durham’s interdisciplinary MSc in Scientific Computing and Data Analyis (https://miscada.webspace.durham.ac.uk/) and aims to train the next generation of PhD students. Is offers streams (specialisations) in various areas.
• Both ARC (https://www.durham.ac.uk/research/institutes-and-centres/advanced-research-computing/training-/) and DIRAC’s virtual training platform offer introductory courses around our digital research infrastructure.
• Durham’s Student Cluster Competition (https://scicomp.webspace.durham.ac.uk/clusdur/) team provides students the opportunity to acquire expertise with the infrastructure underpinning today’s data science research.
• Data science-related training on the undergrad and postgrad level is offered by various Durham departments.
