We warmly welcome applications for three posts as Co-Director of the Institute for Medical Humanities.

Institute Co-Directors play a vital role in shaping and delivering the strategic objectives of the IMH, strengthening the medical humanities research community at Durham and contributing to the broader development of this interdisciplinary field. Co-Directors are also representatives and advocates for the Institute for Medical Humanities in Departmental, Faculty and wider University research settings, making a valued impact within Durham’s research culture and environment.

These roles are ‘tariffed’ at 0.2 FTE and open to academic staff at all career levels. You can find out more about the roles in the job description

Please note that these positions are only open to current Durham University staff. 

Applications close Monday 29 September 2025 and interviews will be held on Friday 24 October 2025.
