Biography
Chenjue is a Master of research student in the department of engineering. She got the BEng in Electric Engineering and Automation from Shanghai University of Electric Power in 2016 and then worked as an electrical engineer at State Grid Corporation of China for four years. Now, she is supervised by Dr Yaodong Wang and Professor Anthony Roskilly.
Research Project
Chenjue’s project aims to decarbonise domestic buildings by utilising solar energy to replace fossil fuels for residential electricity and heating supply. Using the software TRNSYS, she modelled the annual electricity, heating and hot water demands of a single-family house in Newcastle and designed a photovoltaic-thermal solar-assisted heat pump system with thermal storage to cover a significant part of these demands.
