Biography

Fangfang Du is a postgraduate research student in the School of Education, within the Psychology and Education Cluster. She is supervised by Professor Jens Beckmann and Professor Nadin Beckmann.

Fangfang earned her Master's degree in TESOL from the University of Hong Kong (with Distinction and Dean's Honour) and her Bachelor's degree in English Education from South China Normal University.

She has previously worked as a primary school English teacher in Shenzhen, China, and as a research assistant at both the University of Hong Kong and the Education University of Hong Kong.

Her  PhD research project focuses on Dynamic Test of Language Learning Aptitude (DToLLA). The aim of this project is to develop a dynamic test that assesses children's language learning aptitude.  A central feature of dynamic testing is the integration of learning opportunities within the test itself, which is achieved by providing standardised feedback during the testing process. The language test primarily evaluates learners' ability to benefit from feedback in acquiring semantic and syntactic information through the use of an artificial language.
