Biography

Through my educational background including undergraduate work in Philosophy of Religion and Christian Education, a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and a PhD in Theology from Durham University, I have been interested in theological implications of the human condition from a variety of perspectives. Most recently, I have focused my research on the phenomenon of hope expressed in Hindu and Christian populations of the Indian diaspora in the US.

Currently, I am teaching Islam Observed, a module on global Muslim communities, at Durham University, along with continuing to see clients for psychotherapy. Pursing an understanding of the ways in which religious groups seek and express faith, and the many obstacles and debates inherent in those pursuits in the present political world, continue to be pressing interests. Further, I have interests in racial and multiethnic reconciliation, and community service that unites people across faiths.
