Biography
Jian is a PhD student in the department of engineering. He got a Mphil degree in mechanical engineering from Newcastle University in 2020. Now, he is supervised by Dr Yaodong Wang ,Dr.Zhiwei Ma and Professor Tony Roskilly.
Research Project
In the UK, space and water heating can consume approximately 80% of the energy in the domestic sector. Jian’s project focuses on seasonal energy storage for domestic heating. The system will use the zeolite and Li+ salt to make the sorbent for water sorption and can store heat in summer and release it in winter. This project has a complete test rig and an accurate Matlab model. In addition, a model of a house was also physically tested and simulated simultaneously.
