Mr Kevin Egan
I am from the north suburbs of Chicago, Illinois and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. I then earned my MSc in Data Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, while working as a Business Analyst at Medline Industries, Inc at the same time. I am interested in applying statistical and machine learning techniques to uncover prediction models from data.
My research aims to develop automatic methods using classical statistical learning algorithms and evaluation techniques to uncover dynamical systems in data. We can evaluate, forecast, and develop control methods for physical systems such as turbulence flow, climate change modelling, and neuroscience structures by identifying these systems within data. I am interested in working in any field that would allow me to develop methods to identify a system then develop predictions for new data.
