Biography

Maria is a PhD candidate in Social Anthropology. Combining urban anthropology and human geography, her current research interest focuses on space and identity politics in central Athens.

She has previously conducted research in refugee camps in Piraeus and Athens as part of the ESRC-funded project Transitory Lives (https://transitorylives.net/), that focuses on the refugee/migration crisis in the Mediterranean.
