Biography
Robert Twiss
Robert Twiss is a Career Development Fellow in French Studies. He teaches French language and literature at the School of Modern Languages and Cultures and is participating in theĀ Imagining Alternatives: Utopia in the World project as part of theĀ Inventing Futures research program at the Institute for Medieval and Early-Modern Studies. His research puts utopian fiction into dialogue with missionary descriptions of Indigenous North-American societies from around the great lakes region in the seventeenth century, to ask what these forms of writing suggest about more egalitarian ways of living.
