Sources of information are created for different reasons and purposes. How an event is recorded evolves over time, with increased analysis and context added. These are factors that are critical to understanding the relevance of information for academic work. This session will help you to assess the academic use of sources including books, journals, news and websites in the context of the information cycle.

After attending this session, you will be able to:
- Recognise what the information cycle is
- Identify and describe the fundamental differences in resources and how this affects their use in academic work.
