This student-run event will bring students, staff and the local community together to learn about each other's cultures and countries, as well as celebrate everything international about Durham!

World Fest will feature over 20 stalls representing over 70 cultures and countries run by student societies and groups in the Fonteyn Ballroom of the Students' Union, including Canadian, Hispanic, Chinese, Czech, Slovak, Peruvian, Australian, Indonesian, Malaysian, Swiss and more. Each stall will allow visitors to learn something new!

There will also be a range of free interactive sessions / workshops run by students taking place in the Vane Tempest Room. These will include:

A variety of food from diverse cuisines will also be available to purchase. These will be prepared by certified home-cooks in the local community in connection with the Durham student-led start-up catering company Hey! Food Is Ready.

The stalls will be open throughout the afternoon.

About Durham University International Students' Association

The Durham University International Students’ Association (ISA) represents over 4,500 students from around the world. Their aim is to bring people together through the celebration of different cultural events such as Thanksgiving, Diwali and Lunar New Year and provide a supportive environment for students to exchange ideas and learn about different cultures and languages. Alongside organising and hosting a variety of events, the ISA also runs a mentoring scheme which pairs incoming international students with current students from similar backgrounds, helping students integrate into University life and form new friendships. The ISA also liaises with University staff and Durham Students’ Union to ensure the unique needs of international students are considered and accommodated for. Ultimately, the ISA seeks to create a sense of community for all students, no matter what background, and create a space to celebrate and appreciate the diversity we have at Durham University!
