Team Zambia at the Sport and Wellbeing Park

We are delighted to welcome the Zambian Commonwealth Games Team to Durham as they train and live on campus on the run up to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Zambia will be visiting us and using our fantastic facilities to prepare for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. 

Arriving in Durham

Team Zambia arrived on Saturday July 16 and will be staying in Durham for two weeks. They were warmly welcomed on campus on Sunday 17 July at The Sport and Wellbeing Park where they had a tour of facilities and were introduced to some of the team. 

Training at Maiden Castle

41 athletes from nine sports codes, including Athletes, Badminton, Boxing, Cycling, Judo, Rugby Sevens, Para-powerlifting, Squash, and Swimming are going to be using a variety of venues across Durham to train in; including our state of the art sports facilities at Maiden Castle. Hatfield College will host Team Zambia

Hatfield College will be hosting our guests for 9 nights during their stay, allowing the team to be immersed in the university.
