Celebrate Science returns this October half-term, Tuesday 25 October to Thursday 27 October 2022 10.00am – 4.00pm. This event will bring three fun-packed and fascinating days of free activities, workshops, experiments, and lectures celebrating science.

What is Celebrate Science?

Our annual three-day Celebrate Science festival celebrates Durham University’s latest research with our local community which brings together a wide range of fun and fascinating science-themed activities for the whole family within a marquee.

 

What does it involve?

Children are invited to create inventions and take part in activities including investigations of animal skulls, magnetism, and optical illusions, with university experts on hand to answer any queries. You can even relax and soak up the atmosphere in the Yum Café, which will be offering light refreshments within the Celebrate Science Marquee.

 

Who are the confirmed exhibitors?

This year, there will be representation from departments across the University and external partners including Procter & Gamble, Beamish Museum, and Locomotion.

 

Where and when does it take place?

You can find us in the Celebrate Science marquee on Palace Green, the heart of Durham's World Heritage Site, on 25 - 27 October.

 

How much does it cost?

Free entry for all

 

What else is going on?

host of free activities will also be taking place at Durham University's visitor attractions across the City including the Palace Green Library and Oriental Museum throughout the festival and half term week.
