Project on 75 years of the ECHR.

Meeting this term: January 8th, PCL050, all day. All welcome.  

Leads: Jane Rooney and Dimitrios Kagiaros. Project is in a fairly early stage at this point (first meeting held 1 April), but it is planned to encompass the years 2025-2028, and will include workshops/seminars, applications to funds, that are planned to include the SLS seminar fund, the MLR seminar fund and Flourish funding. The group in question has now split up into sub-groups, in some of which senior staff, as well as ECRs and PGRs, are represented, in order to focus on particular aspects of the project, in 25-26, with a view eventually to producing chapters collaboratively for an edited collection. 3 workshops are currently planned as follows: Dimitrios, Andy, Natalie, Marginalised voices Dec 2025; Jane and Jessie on armed conflict and terrorism, January 2026; Helen, Kaspar/Kieran technology and the ECHR, March 2026.

A Co-Investigator with Se-shauna Wheatle on the Unwritten Principles project, funded by Open Research Area (ORA) 7, Vanessa MacDonnell of University of Ottawa Faculty of Law, was in the UK on 9 October 2025; the HRPLC co-hosted (with the project) a presentation/lecture by Vanessa on 9th, inviting all members, with refreshments.
