The event will include a demo of a tool designed to display articles, preservation documents, and other related materials in relation to a visual object. In the case of a manuscript, where articles discuss the layout of the page, the paragraphs that address these aspects (e.g., decorative elements, structural elements, content), the tool would attempt to link to the corresponding section in an image of the manuscript. The event will also include a discussion of the functional or design aspects of the tool, as well as a reflection on the current design and how it could be revised.

The ‘Owegate Forge’ takes place every other Thursday in term, from 1-2pm. It is an informal forum for those engaged in medieval and early modern research to talk about a current piece of work of any kind – whether a presentation, a writing task, a collaborative undertaking, or a grant application – that is at an early stage of elaboration.
