Professor Charles Fernyhough

Charles FernyhougCharles Fernyhough is a Reader in Psychology at Durham University and Director of Hearing the Voice, an interdisciplinary study of voice-hearing based at Durham University and funded by the Wellcome Trust. His other research interests include the emergence of verbal thinking and the development of social cognition. He is the author of two novels, A Box of Birds and The Auctioneer, and two non-fiction books, Pieces of Light and The Baby in the Mirror.

He has contributed to the books pages of the Financial Times, Literary Review, Sunday Telegraph, Scotland on Sunday, Sydney Morning Herald, and Nature.

He has appeared at numerous literary festivals in the UK and abroad, including Edinburgh, Hay-on-Wye and Cheltenham, and has acted as consultant on two West End theatrical productions.
