Staff profile

Colin is the Faculty Librarian for Sciences at Durham University, he is responsible for the following subject areas - the Department of Biosciences, the Department of Chemistry, the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Earth Sciences, the Department of Engineering, the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the Department of Physics and the Department of Psychology.

He provides user-focused support and advice for all of these departments via research skills training, library collection management and service promotion.

Colin is also the Copyright Officer within the Library and can help and advise users on the following copyright licences:

The CLA Licence, the NLA Educational Licence, the Ordnance Survey Educational Copyright Licence, the ERA Educational Recording Licence, the Open University Licensed Off-air Recording Scheme.

Colin worked for many years as an Academic Liaison Librarian at Durham University and before that was their Business Librarian. He also held information management posts within the Law Practice Library, University of Northumbria and the Main Library, University of Bristol. He has previous experience working as a teacher and many years instructing outdoor pursuits.

He is the writer of articles on information management in various academic settings and sits upon the editorial board of The International Journal of Information Management.
