Tutorials (Ptt) in the Durham Law School

Biography

Dara is a Master of Jurisprudence (MJur) candidate and Tutor of Land Law at Durham Law School. As well as obtaining a First Class Law Degree from Durham University in Summer 2022, he was awarded the Monckton Chambers Prize for Competition Law. Moreover, he is a recipient of the Durham Law School Master of Jurisprudence Studentship. Dara has represented the University in a number of external mooting competitions (namely the Landmark Chambers’ Property Moot and the Helga Pedersen Moot Court Competition) and previously served as the Vice President of Durham University Mooting Society. He is due to commence pupillage at Tanfield Chambers in September 2025.

Current Research

Dara’s research focuses on property law, namely the rectification of the land register (which is governed by Schedule 4 to the Land Registration Act 2002). He is exploring how ‘mistake’ – which is a key prerequisite for rectification –should be construed. In particular, his thesis examines whether the interpretation that the Court of Appeal adopted in NRAM and Antoine is promoted by the statute. He is supervised by Chris Bevan (primary) and Andy Hayward (secondary).
