Biography

I work with a team of colleagues to support research grant application planning, review and submission. We provide information sessions and training, identify funding sources, facilitate research conversations and have a supportive one to one discussions. Prior to this role I was the Senior Research Development Manager for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Durham. I was a founding member of the Research Development Team on its creation in 2016; before this I was the Research Grants and Contracts Officer for the A&H faculty and for departments in both the Science and Social Sciences faculties including supporting the School for Medicine, Pharmacy and Health before its transfer. This varied experience has given me a real insight into the challenges and rewards of working across interdisciplinary boundaries.

I joined the university in 2003 having previously worked in research grant finance. This ‘inception to completion’ career path has given me an excellent breadth of understanding of the research funding landscape.

I am a Co-Champion of the Art and Humanities Special Interest Group for the Association of Research Managers and Administrators (ARMA), and I am a university staff mentor.

Please do drop me a line or give me a call if you would like to discuss your research plans.
