Biography

Before joining Durham University, I worked as a Spanish Language Tutor at the Language Centre at the University of Nottingham Ningbo in China. I delivered language teaching for ab initio and beginners levels (A1, A1.1) to students from different backgrounds (China and UK campuses).

Previously, I worked as a Spanish Lector in the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies at the University of Bath, where I delivered Spanish language lessons to undergraduates in the MLES (Modern Languages) and IMML (Management and Languages) programmes.

I initially moved to the UK when I obtained a Spanish Language Assistant position at the Language Centre at the University of Cambridge.

I hold a BA in Spanish: Language and Literature from the Complutense University of Madrid. After finishing my undergraduate studies, I completed an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Second Language at the same institution. My final dissertation was focused on interlingua mistakes found in the linguistic landscape of Madrid.

In 2021 I completed the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) from Durham University.

I am recognised as a Fellow by the Higher Education Academy since March 2021.
