Biography

Matteo is an Assistant Professor in Trust Law and Land Law at Durham University.

He has over a decade of experience in academic teaching and research. Before joining Durham Law School Matteo was the module leader for three LLB law modules at the University of London, delivered at the Institute of Law in Jersey.

He holds a PhD in Private Law and European Legal Culture, a Master’s in Trust Law, and a Master’s Degree in Law, with a dissertation exploring trust law in civil law jurisdictions.

Matteo has taught a wide range of university courses, including Trust Law, Property Law, Comparative Private Law, EU Law, and Private Law.

A member of the Genoa Bar Association, he also has significant experience as a lawyer in top Italian law firms.

His academic research focuses on Trust Law, Property Law, and the relationship between common law and civil law jurisdictions, with an additional interest in EU competition law.

Matteo is currently a member of the editorial board of Trust e Attività Fiduciarie, a law review dedicated entirely to trust law.
