Research topic

'Political Economy of Education'. My research focuses on how democratic and nondemocratic regimes affect the relationship between education and economic growth. My hypothesis is that in democracies, the political environment favours a positive relationship between those variables, while in nondemocracies the same is not true. My research should bring empirical support to the fact that democracies invest more in education than nondemocracies, but also should help explain why is that the case.
