Biography

Dr. Ismail has MSC and PhD in Education from Southampton Education School and she is a Fellow of The Higher Education Academy (FHEA). She worked as Research Fellow in Bath University, then Research Fellow Enterprise in the Open University for many years where she took the lead in different research projects around her area of expertise in Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL). Examples of these projects are in Games-Based Learning and Citizen Science in online settings. Dr.Ismail, is a qualitative researcher, she has expertise in Thematic analysis and IPA using different Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS) such as NVivo and Atlas.ti (she teaches these packages too). In teaching, she has 5 years teaching work experience in the department of Education of different Higher Education institutions such as; Swansea university and Glyndwr University. In these universities, she has authored and taught modules in Educational Leadership. Her current role is a lecturer in the School of Education- University of Durham. Moreover, Dr. Ismail has 12-years’ experience in Further Education and a parallel technical background, she is Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) with titles; Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) and Database Administrator (DBA).
