Biography

Dr. Shivaprasad KV has been working in the Department of Engineering at Durham University, since November 2019. Previously, he worked as a research associate at the Sir Joseph Swan Centre for Energy Research, Newcastle University. He worked as an assistant professor at Dilla University, Ethiopia, for 2 years and 4 months, and at Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore, India, for 2 years. He has 6 years of teaching experience and 4 years of research experience.

Shivaprasad’s research interests focus on engine combustion, decarbonisation of energy, energy storage, gasification, and the hydrogen economy. His knowledge of electrolysis-enabled hydrogen generation and combining renewable energy production with existing power systems would contribute to the local government's commitment towards net zero emissions and its vision to become a global leader in hydrogen. His active involvement in research has not only led to numerous publications but has also shaped the development of the field.  He has authored or co-authored over 20 international journal publications, 9 international conference proceedings, and two book chapters.
