Biography

Education Background

I studied BA Archaeology in Jilin University, China before completing MA Archaeology and Heritage of Asia in University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. I am trained in Chinese archaeology with solid fieldwork experiences, I have excavated in Central Plain China, Northeast China, Southwest China, Southern China, Hong Kong, these sited dated from Paleolithic to late medieval China. I stepped out of my comfort zone and expand my research interests to Southeast Asia when doing my dissertation project with a focus on Northern Thai Buddhist archaeology.

Research Topic

Current PhD research topic: Religion along the Southern Silk Road in 7th to 13th centuries - Buddhist material culture in the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms

Master dissertation: The archaeology of early Thai Buddhist Kingdom- Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai as case study
