Biography

Wenjing is a PhD researcher at Durham University, with a diverse educational background in psychology, psychiatry, and education. She has gained extensive work and internship experience in psychiatric hospitals, primary, middle and high schools, and prisons, which has fueled her passion for mental health research and advocacy.

Her current research focuses on assessing cross-cultural differences between international Chinese students and UK home students to identify coping resources for anxiety and develop intervention guidelines to improve mental health services in higher education. In addition, she is exploring the potential of virtual reality interventions to prevent and address mental health issues among individuals experiencing psychosocial maladjustments.

Wenjing is deeply committed to raising mental health awareness among young people, helping them explore and utilise support services, discover their true selves, and lead fulfilling, prosperous lives. Beyond her research, she passionately advocates for the importance of mental health education. Wenjing believes that everyone should have the opportunity to reach their full potential, and she is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and supportive society through her efforts.

Wenjing is also deeply interested in interdisciplinary collaboration, focusing on combining art, music, crafts, and mental health to promote overall well-being. She believes that exploring the intersections between these fields can inspire innovative approaches that significantly enhance individuals’ quality of life and bring greater happiness.
