Supporting Your Arts Award

Durham University’s Library and Collections welcomes young people undertaking the Arts Award at any level. Schools, clubs, university students and families can all get involved, everyone is welcome. As an Arts Award Centre, we can assist you in your award or take the lead.

Here are some of the ways we can support your Arts Award:

What’s on?

Young people can visit our galleries at the Oriental Museum and Palace Green Library to see exhibitions on a range of subjects and art forms. Information on special events such as artist-led workshops, and lectures or seminars open to young people can be found on our What’s On page

Get involved

Young people wishing to take on leadership roles for their Bronze, Silver or Gold levels can help with festivals, projects, or our regular exhibition programme.

Meet the team

Volunteering offers you the opportunity to talk to artists or specialists in different fields. During your time with us, it is also possible to talk to our museum curators, collections managers and technicians about their roles.

Exhibit your artwork

Schools and other groups may have the opportunity to exhibit their work in our temporary or online exhibition galleries.
