This session can be taught:

If you would like to come to Palace Green Library for this session instead, please contact us for further details.

Online Session:

This session uses material from Durham University’s Archives and Special Collections to help tell the story of how the study and practice of medicine changed from the Middle Ages onwards.

Before the session:

You will be sent a source from our archives to look at with your class.

During the session:

Using the source you have studied before the session and adding more documents to this selection, we will see how medicine and the study of anatomy developed from a reliance on ancient Greek texts to a scientific discipline based on observation.
