Joining Instructions

We're looking forward to welcoming you to our Primary Education Taster taking place 09:30-12:30 on 10th April 2025. Below we have included some helpful information about the venue and parking.

Please note that this event is for school groups only. All students must be accompanied by a teacher/a member of school staff, with an appropriate ratio of staff according to the number of students. Durham University will not be acting in loco parentis. This event is suitable for Year 12 students.

Getting Here

The event venue is the Confluence Building on the Lower Mountjoy site, Stockton Road, DH1 3LE. The event starts at 09:30 but you are welcome to arrive from 09:00. On arrival you will be greeted by Durham Student Ambassadors who will direct you to CB0008 where we will start the morning.

Car parking/Coach parking

If you are arriving by car or mini-bus, we may be able to arrange visitor parking for you. Parking at the University and in the city is very limited, so if you intend to arrive by car/mini-bus then please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can make arrangements. Email schools.liaison@durham.ac.uk with your car/mini-bus registration number. We will communicate directly with you to confirm that a visitor space has been reserved. 

If you are bringing a coach then coach parking is available at Belmont Park and Ride. Further information for coach drivers can be found here: https://www.durham.gov.uk/DurhamCoachParking
